Perfect Pie
It was a great pleasure to be able to watch this great series again after watching it during its original run on ABC TV. The two main characters are quite compelling, with Richard Griffiths quietly spoken, whimsical character playing off beautifully against the sharp edges of Maggie Steed. And what a great characterisation of Freddy Fisher from Malcolm Sinclair. Great interactions with the whole cast and a clever merging of the crime and the cooking story lines.
After a while I will probably watch the whole series again.

Saving a much loved clock
I bought this mechanism after a wall clock I had had for many years stopped working. The movement was obviously shot. I have never tried to fix a clock but found it quite easy to unscrew the old movement, after prying off the hands, and to replace it by working in reverse. Took about 15 minutes. Not only that, the new hands that came with the movement, actually suit the clock better. And there was also a sweep second hand which I didn't have on the original movement. It keeps very good time, and for a couple of dollars, this is a very good buy.

Astronomically watchable
Because it neatly captures - or maybe presaged - some of the wildest rumours about the moon landing - even tough this was supposed to be about Mars.
The idea was technically credible in the days when the film was made.
It's got a great cast, and a great ending is thoroughly enjoyable escapist
entertainment. I wanted a DVD of it for years, and now I'm happy I've got it.
