Carving Trout
I liked the fact that not only did the writer show you what to carve, he showed you how, and with what tool. It's one thing to see the end product via a video, it's another thing to graphically show the carving process via a book. This book did that. I have carved several trout on my "own", understood what I didn't know, bought a book that I thot would close the distance of what my mistakes were, and what the expert said...I've been disappointed with those books, until I gambled once again...hit a jack pot with this book. Of course Berry is not at my side as I carve my trout, but his book puts him pretty close. Most important difference in his book and others, is that he shows you the tool he is using...viola! That's what I was looking for, especially around the gills. This is a book worth purchasing to help you develop your own skills. Won't help you with everything, but dang close.

Excited To Use It Everyday!
Wow...what a step up from my Rebel XT! I debated between the Mark III and the Mark IIN, and decided to go after the Mark III. Be ready to do a lot of reading and studying on how to employ this bad boy. There's lots to it, more than I'll probably use, but the tools it offers are awesome. Great shots, and experimenting with what feature to use is more than half the fun. The burst rate blew me away. Going from 3 shots/sec to 10shots/sec is phenominal. I think starting with a Rebel helped me tremendously in basic sports photography, I had to time events like a pitcher's ball release, and to get a ball coming off a bat was a monumental feat...not so anymore. The Mark III is thrilling to use. I sit on my patio practicing on birds, cats, azaleas in bloom, sunsets, golfers, etc., I can get so many varied approaches to the same subject with spectacular pictures. Unfortunately, I found out to my disappointment that two of my Rebel lenses, EFS models, don't fit on the Mark III, so be aware of that. If you enjoy photography, and you want to be more creative than a simple point-and-shoot, grab one of these pro level cameras...they are built like a tank and I expect this one will last me my lifetime.
