Excellent sound & features, was really amazed at how great this head unit sounds, especially the bluetooth!
2 of 2 found this helpful Let me start off by saying, I am very picky when it comes to audio and video electronics, I always save for the best and never look back with regrets. I replaced an Alpine CDE-123 (best head unit ever made, until I got this one, especially since it featured dual USB) I researched this head unit for a solid month before pulling the trigger. I have been quiet spoiled in my wife's vehicle with the handsfree bluetooth, not any more. Most of the reviews I have read on other units, ended up having many issues, such as feedback or bad sound / mic pick up. Not this unit, the bluetooth connects immediately when I get in my truck, sound is amazing, like using my Beats headphones for phone calls. Something else that really drew me to this unit was the Tune It feature. I had a IDA-305S that I was going to use, however the sound was flat, there was no mid range, so it was either too booming or too much scream, no proper balance. I looked into getting the vintage audio imprint processor, but for the price of it alone, I began to research this unit. After reading a lot, the Tune It app feature, essentially does the same thing, perhaps through software vs hardware. I like the fact I can change the sound on the fly from my phone, send the new settings right over and there they are. Some people might look at this as a novelty, however I think it is vitally important for getting the best sound. There is a reason why cheap head units are cheap, they sound bad and don't offer any adjustment to correct the sound, this is true in both home and auto. The 2 line text display is a very nice touch as well, I like that the clock is still displayed with the artist and track name as well. HD radio (where available) is a big improvement as well. If I had to list one thing that I did not like with this unit it would be that it didn't have front and rear USB, but then again, only the CDE-123 had both. I like the rear USB, because I can toss the iPod in the glove box and it is out of sight out of mind. Hope this helps

Great Value for beginner with room to expand for more advanced user.
I bought the Rustler VXL because it didn't break the wallet and it packed a lot of power out of the box. The sweet thing is it is highly customizable and there is plenty of upgrading and expansion along the way. Although it is not a "basher", this is a fairly rugged car and gives the best of both worlds for light off road and pavement driving.
