SMALL, NEAT AND POWERFUL
Not much bigger or heavier than an iPad but more powerful, better protected with a hinged lid so also easier to carry and doesn't have that annoying reaction to repackaged webpages which jiggle about and readjust as more data is loaded and screen of iPad (or iPhone) blanks out and readjusts. (or has to "Reload". Yes, it is more expensive but a 2017 spec is good for the foreseeable future and a Retina screen is easier on the eyes. All in all a Brilliant machine.

from Windows 10 to Mac Book Pro OX 10.6.1
with great trepidation (and being forced to by the overzealous Windows 10 programme) I took the bold step to change. i bought a used Macbook with the fallback that at worst I could resell it on eBay and hopefully not loose too much money. BUT 10 days on i am delighted I did try it, because it is proving are than just OK. Boot some is 'seconds' compared to the several minutes my Windows7 took, since having a reinstall of W7, as W10 would never install the latest updates...... I am sure it will take me a bit longer to fully get used to clicking "X" on the top left corner instead of the Right and various other idiosyncrasies of the Apple world. I bought NeoOffice which so far has read every WORD and EXCEL doc in my library and was only £13, compare that to Windows Office! my only tip would be to try to get a Late 2009 onwards Mac with later OSX so that you can upgrade to Sierra, that said El Capitan works well.
