DVD - House On Haunted Hill (2003)

I bought this DVD because I like this type of film and, of course actors such as Vincent Price. I wanted to check out the remake and thought that this film was the new (remake) one but it wasn't; it actually was the original. In my opinion, the film is good but I am still wondering how it compares with the new one.

Gripping Stuff

This film, first released in 1962, is based on the antics of T.E. Lawrence, a British Army Officer based in the Middle East during WW1. He was an Egyptologist before the war and knew a lot about the customs and habits of Arabs, Turks and the Middle East in general. He rallied Arab and nomadic tribes together to disrupt German and Turkish war efforts - mainly the Turks. Lawrence himself felt more Arab than British and fought more for the rights and conditions of the Arab people than fighting for the British war effort. It is a really gripping film with fantastic location scenes etc.
