Epic Fail!
Failed to power 2 different radios.Voltage looks ok until a load is applied, then voltage drops to near nothing and radio faults.

Great dual band rig, but no dual receive
1 of 1 found this helpful This rig arrived in like new-in-box condition. It is exactly what I was looking for in a dual band 2m/70cm mobile FM transceiver. Going into you have to realize this rig does not have the dual receive like the old FT-8100 or its replacement the quad-band FT-8900. Easy to program at the rig, so I don't plan to waste $$ on programming interface or software. So far it has been easy to operate. It does have the remote control head feature which I am not using at the moment. Very easy to change power levels, bands, tone on/off, and memory vs. VFO ops. It has the W.I.R.E.S link capability though I have not used it yet. Even though speaker is top mounted, sounds as good in my install as the front-fired model it replaced.
