Suspensful
A very different kind of Rock Hudson movie. There's this uneasy and foreboding feeling throughout the movie that as the story unfolds it will not result in a happy ending. Deliberately filmed in B&W at a time when all movies were pretty well in colour. If John Frankenheimer had filmed it in colour it would have decreased the story's impact.

A life & death story of perseverance
I first read this book in high school in the late 1960s. I thought it was a great read back then and certainly worth owning a copy decades later.

Great picture but lacks some obvious features
The picture quality itself is excellent, however I don't see a difference compared to my Sony blu-ray player that I bought 10 years ago. And for a player that has been described as a new fangled generation of blu-ray players, there are no RCA jack receptacles to hook up to my stereo amplifier !! So if I want to watch a concert on DVD I have to listen to the music on the TV's speaker. Disappointing. No justification for the $300 price being asked by home entertainment stores.
