This is a great story - so great that they had to make a Big Screen movie starring Peter Cushing as the Doctor.
This a great story and includes everything that make Dr Who great. A bit more money from the BBC this time (thanks to its growing popularity) and it shows! A fantastic DVD that involves everything you want from Dr Who - New fans will love this - old/hardcore fans will adore and appreciate/treasure this! I know I will!!
This programme was SO ahead of its time and thankfully has fully established itself once more on our screens; however, considering the crew had none of what we expect/see in tv of today - the story telling, effects etc were great for that time period. A fantastic piece of Dr Who history that needs to be owned by all fans.
The Daleks are coming - watch out!

The beginnings set - for the hardcore dr who fans
This is a great piece of dr who history - the original first incarnation who set the series in motion and allowed many other great actors, studio crew etc to follow and prove to themselves what they are capable of.
When this series started out there was NO money in the pocket what-so-ever. It seems daft that the BBC commissioned this series but wanted it made with next to nothing finance.
An impossible task; but a task that was defeated by a great cast and crew. The show was ahead of its time, but was played out very well.
This set is only really for the die-hard fans of the show who can appreciate the tough times and the history. New fans will not really enjoy this set.
It contains adventures in the TARDIS, first meeting with the deadly Daleks and pre-historic Earth - Nice stories and well made for something with no money; not bad eh!

Should have been the start of a great 8th Doctor series
Paul McGann had such great potential to be the Doctor on a new tv series. Apart from Eric Roberts' poor performance as The Master it is a VERY watchable dvd! Paul McGann's 8th Doctor has made a HUGE impact on the Big Finish Audio Adventures and last year with his own BBC7 series.
I hope Paul is able to make some kind of appearance as the Doctor either on the new series (well done to David Tennant) or perhaps a spin-off series that could look at the 8th Doctor's escapades maybe - you never know!
He makes a GREAT doctor and should have been given the chance and I still feel that the 2005 season should have been given to him atleast so he had a chance to prove himself and either been given the opportunity to have a 2nd season or hand the keys over to David - but hey Im not Russell T Davies.
This adventure was both loved and criticized when released back in 1996 - but you watch it again now and contains all the elements of the 21st century incarnation of the show! The 8th Doctor was critised SO much for sharing a Kiss and being a bit of a romantic - but doesnt that happen in the 10th Doctor adventures!
This was the beginning of a 8th Doctor TV Series that was being planned just as production had ended but due to the poor advertising on the America side of the coin and the BBC not willing to fund the project completely it was not to be.
A great piece of Dr Who history that (thanks to the new series) is now well established as a true part of Dr Who.
Fans of all ages should see this as they WILL enjoy it!
