Fifty-something, working in a stressful job, seeking ways to unwind and relax. I started spending time in my 10ft x 10ft garden shed, listening to Planet Rock on the radio and making bits & pieces out of scrap wood.
I have made all sorts, pallet wood garden planters, outdoor furniture, garden ornaments, hedgehog nesting boxes, jewellery/keepsake boxes, even a catio for my daughter-in-law. One of the first things I made was a simple back scratcher and I enjoyed the challenge of working out how to bend the wood without damaging it.
What I find most therapeutic is making wooden pens, the only problem being I can’t hear the radio over the noise of the lathe! Each pen is unique and you can’t always tell what you’re going to end up with when you first select a piece of wood, with some surprising and delightful results once final polishing is complete.

PERFECT
Very easy to use and it saved me buying a new lock set when I replaced the foot pack on my roof bars. With this key I was easily able to take out the locks from the old foot pack and then slot them into the new one. This can only be done with the locks in the unlock position.

A great, low cost sat nav. Clear mapping and easy to use.
1 of 2 found this helpful A great sat nav for the price, we got lifetime map updates which is a bonus. Although "lifetime" doesn't mean forever, it means for the life of the sat nav based on what Tom Tom decide is appropriate. Clear mapping, easy to customise and you can add your own POI. This is quite straightforward but I needed to google how to do it. I like the fact that it clearly shows which lane you need to be in at junctions and one of the voice options will read out the road number and/or name as you approach the next turn. The screen can automatically flip if you turn it upside down, which gives you more options regarding where to mount it. The suction mount stays attached to the unit and folds relatively flat for storage. The charging/data cable is micro usb but connects at a right angle in a recess, a normal data cable would probably work but would be awkward to insert/remove. It has a reasonable amount of internal memory and the option of increasing memory with an external card, so you can add extra maps (at a cost). I have always used Tom Tom devices and this is not quite as intuitive as the One series, but the bigger screen is a real positive and you quickly get used to the different menu layout. All of the functions I want are there, it just took a bit of playing about to find them. Straight out of the box it took a long time to locate my position and it seemed to lose the signal a lot on my first journey, but once I connected it to my computer and completed all of the recommended updates it worked flawlessly. Overall rating based on cost and functionality 10/10.

USELESS
Very noisy motor producing virtually no airflow. I wasn't expecting much for the price but I was expecting it to work as a fan - it didn't!
