Kate Blanchett is great value for money in this tale.
Heaven is a powerful yet slightly disturbing film featuring the multi-talented actress Kate Blanchett. Like many of her films this takes concentrated veiwing, as the plot weaves its twists and turns. I have been a fan of hers for some years now and am seldom disappointed when I see one of her films. It seems that she deliberately chooses a different role type for each performance. In this film, she plays the part of a woman hell bent on revenge, determined to kill the person responsible for her misfortune, only to find that she, herself, becomes the guilty party in the murder of 4 innocent people. Can she escape the full consequences by explaining her reasons in order to justify her crime, successfully run from the law, or face the punishment for her wrong-doings. It's powerful stuff and will keep you engaged throughout the entire film. Yet another 5-star performance from Kate in my opinion.

    A Gerry Anderson Masterpiece.
This is a great box set as it is well recorded, excellent sound and vision, well packaged and very good value for money. Now for the content: quite simply Sci-fi at its best, from the master of cult 60's marionette TV series Gerry Anderson. It's a shame he didn't try further real-life projects. Both cast and content are great. Each episode stands alone, often story-lined around one of the central characters. Made in the early 70's it was set as a vision for the year 1980 (little expecting to be still around in 2010's). Obviously fashions change and some sets are dated but why shouldn't it, after all, it is 40 years old. However, you can still watch it and think, this could be the future of things to come. If you're a fan of Sci-fi and haven't seen it yet, I thoroughly recommend it. This set (the complete 2nd series) is as strong as the first set with vols 1-4 (the first series). It's great value for money and I'm sure it will not disappoint. Compared to most box sets from the 70's this is as good as it gets. 5 star entertainment in my opinion.

Oh the sweet innocence of the seventies...
It might give my age away but I bought this to remind me of the more innocent days of my youth. Like many products of the early 70's it shows its age, and why shouldn't it. After all it was a different era as it is 40 years old and my how times have changed. It is interesting to see the low-budget effects and ham-acting taking place. By today's standards the teenage youth just wouldn't be engaged with this. It's not a smack-in-your-face, blood-spurting, violent, swearing and generally anti-social rebellion taking place here, but a mild-mannered, respectful fight against 'the baddies' in the true tradition of 'good v evil' from the golden age of cinema. In this made for TV series (targeted at young teens), each short show (approx 25 mins) starts from where the last left you, and ends on a cliff-hanger to keep you guessing until next weeks episode. Very much in the Dr.Who mold, except this has the young adventurous lads getting into trouble so the glamorous young ladies have to help them out. I would not recommend this if you want a serious adventure series, but if you're up for nostalgia - it's probably as near as you'll get understanding the feelings encountered at this time. Nevertheless, there's a great deal to see here in this very reasonably priced box set. Reminiscence a plenty for the older mums and dads, sweet innocence and entertainment for the younger viewers, but not (repeat NOT) for the adventure-seeking teenagers of today.
