A little Gem of a Reiki Book :-)
A very small book which I found surprising. However, it is a little gem! It is not full of excess waffle and opinion and is quite practical for use.

Expensive, inaccurate and not much 'chop'!
Unfortunately this author does not understand why certain terminology is used in Reiki. For example she interchanges 'initiation' with 'attunement'. Her reasoning is that the term 'Initiation' suggests secret societies, politicism, She also states that Reiki is not a 'mystical' or ' mysterious' experience, but it actually is! If we considered Reiki as 'Coca Cola' then she is selling a generic cheapened version and nothing more. In regard to the Reiki symbols - her version of HSZSN is proven incorrect from Reiki history and the 5th symbol (Raku) does not come from traditional Usui Reiki tradition, and comes from Raku Kei Reiki which is an offshoot from one of Hawayo Takata's students who 're-invented' the Reiki system in the USA circa 1981/1982 with Arthur Robertson. I will also state her there is no such thing as a 'healing attunement'. This again is where the author confuses people because she does not wish to use proper terms. Her 'attunements' are done in a way where the client is lying down. A proper Master would have their 'Initiate' seated and follow the set traditional practices for her lineage. I am much earlier in her lineage and that is why I can be a critic here. She does make some positive comments and has some good insights but generally the book falls flat and is not something I can recommend unfortunately, although I would have liked to.
