Instructions do not mention that two coats may be needed.
2 of 2 found this helpful I bought this glue to repair my walking boots, where the lower sole had separated from the upper sole. I followed the instructions exactly, and after five minutes both coats of glue were totally dry. When I pressed the surfaces together, they did not stick at all. So I applied a second coat, and pressed the surfaces together when the glue was still slightly tacky. This time it worked, and after a week's use in wet and muddy conditions, the sole is still firmly stuck. I think the problem may have been that the upper sole was slightly absorbant, and needed the first coat to seal it. However, applying two coats used up all of the rather small tube, and i still had another boot to repair.
