Mintex Rear Brake Shoe Set, problem with fit
The brake shoes appeared to be identical to those they were to replace but I could not attach the handbrake self-adjusting mechanism as the C-clip would not enter its groove. On measuring the thickness of the metal I found it to be a few 'thou' thicker than that of my original shoes. The solution was to grind off a small amount of metal to reduce the thickness so that I could correctly insert the C-clip.
The friction material appears fine and passed an MOT inspection a few days later with no comment.
