White Pearl Crystal Brooches
Lovely geometric, mandala-like designs of crystal and white pearls in these lightweight yet sturdy designs provide an elegant look at an astonishingly low price! Perfect for weddings. The kind of look only the landed gentry could afford a couple of centuries ago is now within almost anyone's reach. Recommended.

Stephen King's fascinating TV mini-series of "The Shining."
It was fascinating to see Stephen King's TV miniseries of his famous horror novel, after having watched Stanley Kubrick's movie version of "The Shining" recently. In six hours, King was better able to convey the nuanced struggles of the central characters (and especially Jack Torrance), as the story builds to its horrific climax. Of course King has a lot of supernatural special effects, but overall, they are more in service to the story, whereas some of Kubrick's scary visuals struck me as visual non-sequitors.
The cover of the DVD was a little worn, but I don't care about that. This 2 disc DVD edition was in perfect viewing condition, which is all that matters to me.
