Lots of slots
This is a very sturdy knife block with lots of slots, at a reasonable price. I wouldn't pay £90 for it!

Lock and Lock are the only make to buy
All sizes of Lock and Lock boxes are great. They really are watertight and bug proof. They are also strong and dishwasher safe. This very large size is perfect for pet or bird food.

A fascinating story, beautifully written
A story about a Chinese Malay woman sent with her sister by the Japanese in WW2 to a camp in the Malay hills. She is the only survivor of the camp and wants to build a garden in memory of her sister. After training as a barrister in England she returns to Malaysia and approaches a Japanese garden designer living in the Cameron Highlands. He refuses to design her garden but teaches her to do it herself.
There is much more to the story, but I don't want to spoil it for those still to read it. I learnt a lot about Malaya / Malaysia during the war and the following years, a little about Japanese garden design and its history. This is all painlessly woven into the story of Yu Ling and Arimoto.
This is a beautifully written book about trying to forget, yet not wanting to forget; about revenge and compromise and dealing with anger. I like the way that the ending is slightly unclear - what was Arimoto's motive for Yu Ling's tattoo...?
