Excellent RPN calculator and an excellent value...
2 of 2 found this helpful I have an old HP48SX that I use at home; I've had it for 25 years and it still works fine. I bought this 48G to use at work so I don't have to carry the old one back and forth.
For 99.8% of any engineer's or scientist's needs, this is the only calculator to consider. It might seem outdated, but the positive feedback on the button presses make this far better than the newer HP49G and HP50G calculators IMO, and it is plenty fast enough and capable enough for everything I've needed as a working electrical engineer.
32KB of memory may seem like a joke in today's terms, but really... who's going to write more than a simple program on their calculator anyway - they are going to use Python or Matlab or some other PC-based tool for any real programming. This suites the needs of a real RPN calculator with rugged durability, reliability, positive feedback on key presses, and is plenty fast.
