Straight replacement for identical failed control
Bought as a replacement for an identical failed control. I understand these valves are prone to failure of the plastic control.mechanism resulting in the central pin not closing the radiator valve that's what happened to the old one let's see how long this one lasts...

Great but really really heavy
The 7x50 fz are a really big and heavy binocular, probably exceptionally so. I knew this when I ordered them so no surprise there..
I actually really like this but bear it in mind if you are going hiking because they wont slip unobtrusively into your back pack .
Even for porro prism binos they are really chunky!
The rubber armouring is very thick and feels like it will do a great job of protecting them.
Optically excellent with a very good field of view. Very little aberration although I fancy there is a cool very slightly bluish hue. I don't find this a problem in any way.
As a 7x50 they work well in full or low light conditions(as you would expect) and are relatively easy to hold steady despite the weight.
A potential negative (on my particular binos) is that the focussing is quite stiff. I think this is partly due to the stiffness of the waterproof seals. I understand this can be a problem(characteristic?)of any porro prism bino with decent waterproofing as it is very difficult to prevent water entry given the physical movement of external parts against each other when focussing.Having said this they are very new and might loosen up slightly with use and there may be variation on individual binos .Also the stiffness is worse in cold conditions as you might expect. These were bought unseen on ebay for £75 brand new and overall for this price I am really pleased.
Just to say there is a leather traditional style case and soft rubber lens caps which seem to be of good quality although I replaced with opticron tethered caps for fear of losing them.
I also bought an op tec replacement strap which works better than the so so original given the weight of the binos.
