The Railways of Great Britain: Freight in the Midlands DVD
    24 Oct, 2016
Terrible, nothing good about it, maybe only the 58's.
Misleading product, sleeve shows steam locos but content is modern diesels. The most amateurish dvd I've ever watched, appauling camera work, he never can decide where to point so you get a headache from all the tripod action, assuming he remembers to unlock the twist as happened more than once! The narration is numbing, not interesting or engaging and only talks when there is a bit of decent loco noise. The video editor also seemingly has no clue, the dvd starts mid shot in an opencast mine, if you get this far to see it you know your eject button isn't working as you really ought to have binned it before watching - I'm saving your valuable life, trust me - the DVD is shi*e.
Ian Allan Gresley 4-6-2 A4 Class by David Clarke

    Poor 'detail'
Whoever thought this book was worthy of being included in the 'in detail' series should be shot, it is rubbish and has almost no content suitable to apply detail alterations or changes to the class. The photos are generally arty, not what should be in a book aimed at more than a 'ooh look, a train' Joe Public purchaser. Where is then detail in this book? The line drawings are appalling, I drew better line drawings when I was 8. Comparing to the Black fives book, this is bog paper, not that I feel it would be good at that either.
The Midland Railway: A Chronology by Gough, John Paperback Book The Cheap Fast

    Clue in the title
Very disappointed with this book. It's nothing but page after page of dates. Unless you are a Midland nerd (I do love the Midland) then you may only find the gradient profiles and maps right at the back interesting. The rest is really hard to read.
