Marantz NR-1501 AV Surround RECEIVER Excellent Condition ONE OWNER

Good product in a slim design with smooth sound 50w/channel

Great value in a slim design unlike most bulky AV receivers. The sound is fuller with deeper bass and balanced highs and midrange- however it had an intermittent problem with pops and squeals from devices connected to HDMI (seems to be common with this model). Googled and came up with a few solutions. Resoldered an IC chip on HDMI board and so far this solved problem. :-). Also this model seems not to have the HDMI pass thru that was later added to newer versions. As long as receiver is on then sound is heard thru receiver and video is sent to monitor (not that big a deal for my purposes). Power supply is identical in all units in series (even later models) so just decide what features you need, question seller on HDMI problems and then go for if satisfied with answers.

First upgrade to KG4!!! Highly

Anyone contemplating upgrades to Klipsch speaker that use this tweeter (K-77 to 79 I believe) should try the titanium tweeter diaphragm upgrade before doing the crossover. MUCH more detail with less of that brittle quality sometimes resulting from mismatched tweeter upgrades. I'm hearing details in my favorite jazz unheard even thru years of listening. Bob Crites has designed an excellent upgrade that is well worth the cost and as a bonus,EASY to install!
