Best game ever, but very slow, you need your wits & plenty of note taking.
My husband and I LOVE this game, we think it's the best game ever. However there are many things to consider which make it sound negative, but we found well worth the hurdles. 1) The rules & how to play the game are not that easy to follow. Once you get it it's simple, I suggest set up the board as best you can & just start playing, it then becomes clear. I wouldn't get this out when you have guests unless you've played before. The instructions make this a game a game I bet many people couldn't be bothered with due to it not being obvious. But it's worth it. 2) You have to do a lot of writing and waiting. You write down each of the cards on paper, the rooms, suspects & staff which takes much time at the start. We wish the sheets were already pre-printed for this. Then you make notes on all the clues you read or are shared. This way you build a picture of the crime. Pretty time consuming & the slowest we've played is about 2hrs, but we LOVE IT. 3) There are only 15 crimes, which is fine as I bet you don't play too often, but once you've played them all there's a chance you'll remember so is not a game you could repeat, however I'm sure you wouldn't remember them all, or you might.
