Good design, good performance

I suppose that this power supply could be used for numerous devices, but my needs for it were a black light installed in a heater system. I tried two other supplies, and the results were not consistent. That's when I decided to go with a switching power supply that was over rated for the job. I'm glad that I did. No strain is being placed on this supply.

Multiple use

In looking for tube dampers, I saw a few repurposed products out there such as O rings. While I think that each product may be useful, I wanted something with a greater surface contact area of the glass. This product accomplishes that, and has a much larger area of absorbing perimeter for vibrations to dissipate . As an experiment, one could add a rubber band the outer perimeter of the damper, causing a compression to the outer fibers of the donut. Whether this would increase the damping effectiveness, I do not know. Being the type of person that goes to hardware store looking for a product intended for one use, but used altogether differently, I saw this product and started to think as to how it might be used in other damping situations. Almost immediately I had a use for it to be used in a large and heavy headphone amp that I am building. I used the available chassis for this amp, and knew because of it's mass, large footers would be required. These came into use perfectly.
