Lick Library - Learn to play Jimi Hendrix vol.1

I have seen other Lick Library DVDs and found them a bit technical and dry. This DVD however is just what I wanted. Clear views of what to play and the whole song covered not just memorable riffs/solos. Nice part on sounds from a Strat too. A tab booklet just to make certain you have got the licks correct would have given it full marks - but I dont like tab that much anyway. If you can get this cheaper than list price I reckon you've got a bargain. (I've just purchased Vol. 2 and hope it's as good!).

Swiss Army knife effects pedal!

Has some effects you probably will never want to use, but for the price it’s incredible. Spend some time playing with the controls and you can find some very useable sounds. The ability to tap tempo on such a little multi fx pedal is amazing. I’m not sure if I would have it on my gigging pedal board, if so it would probably be set as one or two effects that were only occasionally needed. I previously used a “mod factory” for this, and found I could cover a few bases without using much space on my “board”. I sold it and regretted it. Maybe this might make a suitable replacement- time will tell. However for now I use it to make practice a more enjoyable experience. For the price I highly recommend.

A lost gem, showing Perry was a lot more than Chandler Bing.

Great performances from Brad Whitford and Matthew Perry. This is US TV at its best (probably why it was cancelled!). Intelligent and entertaining writing from Aaron Sorkin, so you rewatch episodes and spot bits you missed first time. If you liked West Wing this has to be on your watch list.
