An affordable DSLR starter lens.
Bought this kit lens in anticipation of buying a Pentax K30 DSLR body only, ( since purchased ). As I already owned three Pentax smc lenses, which are compatible with the new digital camera, I wanted a autofocus lens, in order to experiment with the autofocus capabilities of the camera. This lens gives me what I want, at a price that didn't break the bank.
I haven't yet used the lens, so this is reflected in my overall rating for this product and no score for picture quality. Prior to purchase I researched this item, online, and from reviews, knew what to expect.
The item illustrated is that of the more expensive counterpart. The difference between the two is that the lens mount for the illustrated item is metallic, compared to the cheaper version, which is plastic, and has calibrated f stops which are absent with the cheaper item. I don't anticipate these differences being a problem. The plastic mount should be no problem, provided care is always taken when fitting and releasing the lens and I think the lack of visible f stops will be compensated for by the camera's auto feedback info.

Good quality Pentograph.
I haven't used this yet, hence my star review level. Pantographs are a little tricky to use, so I am actively looking at uTube videos.
The item came well packaged. On first inspection, this appears to be a very sturdy, well-constructed piece of technical drawing equipment, which I can't wait to try. Instructions enclosed. I propose to use it for up-scaling model aircraft plans. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for, and this looks like value for money.
