Monitor Audio BR2 bookshelf speakers
1 of 1 found this helpful It's normal for me to review products on respected websites and specialist blog sites to prize out good second hand products from a crowded and confusing market place. Once a bit of research is done though it's of to trusted eBay to bag myself a second hand bargain.
Form shows through and generally what I'm looking for is commanding a high resale value and sellers are even confident enough to run auctions without reserves and low starting prices. I often see this as confirmation of the quality of the product I am buying.
The product in question here is a pair of Monitor Audio Bronze BR2's. Replacing a pair of Bowers and Wilkins DM2's these had to be good.
The application in this case was not listening to hi fi but to be used as a pair of audio monitors in a home studio. Mounted on standing head height on wall brackets these needed to be tight on bass for fear of sounding boomy as they were stuck into the corners of a room.
I needn't have worried. Driven by a budget 35/wpc Cambridge amp and fed from my Apple MAC G5 (using the optical audio output) the sound was crisp and tight and no way boomy.
Great all round speakers and I paid just over £100 - bargain
