Solid Action Title That Excels in Multiplayer
2 of 2 found this helpful The thing that I like the most about Rainbow Six: Vegas is that it is set in Las Vegas. IMHO you can play one Rainbox Six game and you've played them all. But this one shakes up the scenery and gives you some gorgeous visuals. I will say that I don't think this game is for everyone. It is definitely for a lot of people but there will be some that don't like how hard the game is and how monotonous it can feel level after level. The great thing about Vegas though is it's robust online multiplayer experience that keeps you playing by giving you higher ranks the more you play, which then lead to you getting better armor, clothes, and guns. Oh yeah, the maps are very well done and the gameplay modes play great with the games mechanics.
Highs: Rich and rewarding multiplayer experience. Crazy good graphics with good framerate. It's fun having large-scale shootouts in casinos...with terrorists, controls are well done, has a good cover system.
Lows: Horrid horrid horrid voice acting, AI isn't that smart but the game is hard (which means something is up), Shooting a guy 3 times in the foot will send him limping to the ground dead (and no, he didn't get the clue the first two times I shot his foot), gameplay feels recycled so there's nothing new and fresh, if you are really good at tactical shooters, you will beat this game in two sittings.
And Finally: Wow I had a lot of negatives for a game I really like. Tough love? My only gripe that really matters is Vegas adds nothing new from a gameplay perspective that isn't in all of the other tactical shooting games. But what matters is the game is fun and you will get a lot out of it if you play it online.

Good but very repetitive
2 of 2 found this helpful The Godfather is a solid game. I would say that if you can get this game for around $20 then go for it. Anything higher than that and I'm not sure you'll get the replay value out of it that other games can offer. The environments and feel of the game is great, but there seems to be a total of 10 different building layouts in this NYC and the missions often have you drive 10 minutes just to be told you need to drive somewhere else that takes 10 minutes. Targetting can be aggravating when the heat is on and the AI seems to have psychic abilities at times when you enter their rackets.
Bottom line: The action and story is great. For the first 10 hours you won't be able to put the game down. But a lack of variety of missions and a few play mechanic issues will get under your skin.

Best Bond game since Goldeneye
2 of 2 found this helpful The problem with all James Bond games post-Goldeneye is that they all essentially played the same. With one exception: they were not near as fun. From Russia With Love actually delivers a fun, challenging, and deep third-person shooter. The story mode is pretty long and offers multiple difficulties to beat it on. There are also challenges in each mission that allow you to earn medals that unlock bonus levels that don't directly pertain to the story. The multiplayer mode is the highlight of the game and features unlockable characters like Goldfinger and Dr. No (obvious omissions from Goldeneye).
Too bad killing people in this game is SO EASY it's ridiculous. Some people will like the arcade style of locking onto someone and shooting them and watching them go down. Others will be very bored by blowing through enemy after enemy without having to aim (unless you want to score Bond points to buy unlockable things). The AI is not the smartest either so there are no fun shootout moments. There are also "Bond Moments" that you can do in each mission. This is a double edged sword.
Example
Cool Bond Moment - Using a grappling hook to swing across a building, through a window, and smashing into an enemy guard!
Wtf Bond Moment - Walking into a room with extra ammo and body armor...
Overall, this is a fairly easy game with not a lot of challenge for seasoned shooter fans. Some parts feel very "Bondish" while other parts seem very "Wow Sean Connery really sounds old...that's kinda weird." On the other hand, this game would have rocked my world had I never played Socom, Splinter Cell, or Resident Evil 4. But if for no other reason get it for the multiplayer mode which can even entertain you and one other friend for a few hours. I can't even say that about Socom.
