Alain Locke's Life Is Art
First buy Jeffrey Stewart's The New Negro: The Life of Alain Locke, a brilliant and beautifully written biography. An Interpretation will flesh out the Harlem Renaissance and Stewart's book to give a complete picture of the artists and writers who have made history with their talent and imagination. Also, the Survey Graphic March 1925 issue exposes the brilliance of our first Black Rhodes Scholar's insightful writing and vision of Black America.

Great Voice
It's a blast from the past--a time when her voice was prime! This is one of her records that has ever song a good one, some truly great. Barry Manilow not only produced it but he made Dionne look pretty on the cover. It was a turning point for her.
