Excellent
This Philips DVD player is an excellent all rounder but it's best suited to a Standard Definition television screen. When I tried using it to play DVD's on a HDTV, there was a 'ghosting' effect - I tried changing the picture settings for the television to reduce it, but it was still quite noticeable. Strangely, I tried another identical Philips DVD player model on the HDTV, and there wasn't any 'ghosting' issue, it was fine.
I also like that there's a digital display window on the front, something which seems to be going out of fashion with manufacturers of recent DVD/Blu-ray players often opting not to include them.
