Cheap alternative
1 of 1 found this helpful This item is OK. The sound is not as good as using the aux cable, nor equal to that of a bluetooth-equipped car system. But, it's easy to use. There is the issue of a low volume, and making it louder raises the faint static sound along with it, so that's less than ideal.
It picks up my phone signal from 30 feet away and it doesn't interfere with my truck's hands-free phone call system. Although, it does come with its own phone answering function, if needed.
For the price of a good cable, and without the hassle, I believe that it's an acceptable alternative.

Paying for the quality.

Good battery from a great brand.
EGO, in general is a well-made and performance-driven product. It matches, and can even exceed, the performance and pwer of most gas and electric-powered products. This battery was a much-needed addition to my set, I had the original 2.5Ah battery. We used the new battery and ran the trimmer continuously for over an hour without needing to recharge, as we did before. In fact, it still has enough charge for another round, I believe. It did not heat up in the Summer sun, as its predessor, and charged quieter, as well.
My only comment for improvement is that it is a little heavier than expected. My 15-year-old daughter typically trims the edges in our lawn, and the weight can probably be improved to match up to what a gas-powered trimmer would weigh.
Overall, I highly recommend it.
