This CD is AWESOME!!!! MUSIC FREAKS UNITE!!!!
1 of 1 found this helpful John Zorn is by far one of the most unique musicians of our generation, this cd is from the early 90's and honestly one of his calmer recordings with the band that would later become Naked City. Albums like Grand Guignol and Leng T'che are probably the favorites among grindcore and metal fans. Zorn's musical palette is unlike any other jazz saxophonist I've ever heard. From hillbilly music to showtunes to grindcore to circus dirges, there is no limit to his creativity and vision. A lot of people probably do not understand his approach to music, but if you like craziness with a dollop of control, this is definitely for you. Be prepared for a musical journey that you WILL NOT find with any other artist, guaranteed. The artwork from his albums draws from the japanese bondage scene, famous photographer Weegee, and a lot of Maruo Suehiro, a japanese artist whose controversial work has graced the covers of tons of magazines such as JUXTAPOZ and so on. Not only is this cd a work of art musically, but visually as well. I've only one problem with this cd......it's not long enough for me. Honestly, I could listen to the controlled mayhem of Naked City all day, my wife, on the other hand, feels differently.
