2 of 2 found this helpful Having used Scorpion exhausts on previous cars I went straight to this as an option when looking for my MX5. The exhaust arrived extremely quickly from the supplier (far quicker than I'd expected!) and was well packed, there was no way it would have been damaged in transit - even by the most clumsy delivery companies!
Exhaust is split into three sections, there is a flange fit to the existing 1st cat which goes on nicely using the existing banjo bolts. The other two fitments are by fitting one pipe inside the other and using stainless exhaust clamps. I'm not the biggest fan of these given they are generally a hassle to get on and off - I would have liked to have seen flanged fitments like on the stock exhaust. That said it all went on with some persuasion OK.
Once on the exhaust has a very much OEM+ note. If you are after something exceedingly loud, this isn't it. This exhaust gives a nice rumble, quite a lot of rasp although over the course of a few trackdays this has dulled down somewhat. You also do get some burbling and popping once the exhaust is hot, especially just above idle. There is very little drone once on the move and with the roof up it really is only slightly louder than stock. That said under higher load and especially with the roof off it really makes the car sound like it should have done from the factory.
Exactly what I was after!
