Convenient but acquired taste is necessary

I haven't had this coffee maker for a long time, but I did read reviews, and they did warn me that the coffee flavor would not be as good a a drip carafe style coffee maker. This machine has potential 12 oz cup brewing capability and that's why I bought it. Plus it's footprint is much smaller than my previous coffee maker. I have been trying different brands of pods, different water levels and the Strong setting, and I have finally found what I like the best. But even at the best settings, I can still taste some bitterness that I couldn't taste with my carafe maker. But I can live with it.
