great purchase!
We have a friend that recommended this to us because to reduce the amount of daily interactions with chemicals. I was more interested in the cost saving/efficiency side of it. With a family of 5, we are always running out of TP, paper towels, dish detergent, and laundry detergent, if I could eliminate one of those, I would be happy. So we decided to try this out. The reviews were very positive, and its not sketchy science. You can google the concept and the EPA (I believe it was the EPA, it was official gov site) has guidelines for counties using the concept to clean city water. We have been using it for 6 months to a year and no complaints. It really does clean, we have a front loading machine and I set it to "tap cold" every time, and then just hit go. It is more effective the cooler the water. We have also noticed that we no longer have the smelly mold issue in our machine. I have not done scientific data logging to determine that this 100% ended that, but we had a major issue with it before, and now we don't. So all I can say is I would buy another one. The one downside that may effect you, is that it puts off a strong Ozone smell. It smells kinda like a chlorine/thunderstorm type mix, its not exactly pleasing, and it only smells when its running water thru. So if you have you machine by your bedrooms, with no ventilation in the utility room, that may be an issue. We have an old house with a mud room that goes to the outside, so it does not affect us at all. We have been very pleased with this product, super easy to install.
