Very tacky, excellent, but not true cobblers wax
Very tacky and pliable, a little goes a long way. Excellent wax. But genuine brown cobblers wax is required to 'tint' Pearsall's Cahilll silk a 'Greenwells' hue. This wax is too clean and won't change the shade of silk at all - despite its claims and its weird green tint!
Which is a pity as that's what I need a lot of - Still a very good tacky wax, much softer than others eg. hard Veniards tying wax - almost too soft! It is still highly recommended though (especially as it stays malleable & tacky when cold)
Luckily, I've still got a little bit of real cobblers wax for that lovely Greenwells hue when I need it.

A reasonable mix for the price
Veniards are always value for money, this pack contains some good quality partridge feathers, not quite a 5 star item as it contains a fair amount of fluff and aftershaft feathers. Though if you use that for dubbing/nymph thoraxes then not so much an issue.
All in all, a decent pack of mixed pheasant for the price. I would tend to purchase specific packs of Grey or Brown Neck in future though, as my pack was very shy of good grey neck feathers. Your mileage may vary. I do notice that Veniards packs have become smaller than they used to be nowadays.
