There was a mix up with USPS not delivering the package. The buyer was very patient and communicated nicely with me the whole way. We were able to settle on a refund for the item and the buyer was very appreciative. Happy to know there are still positive and nice buyers out there!

Deserves Better Credit; A Must See for Carpeter Fans
Looking for another Michael Myers slasher flick? Skip this movie. Looking for a pretty cool 80’s horror movie with a unique story? Check this one out! Most viewers’ complaint with this movie is that there is no Michael Myers; the only glimpse of him is on TVs in the backgrounds during commercials. I can’t blame people who think that, I hated this movie the first time I saw it as well. However, after I learned why it’s so different my attitude changed and I gave this one another shot. Boy I’m glad I did! The movie centers on a man named Dr. Challis, played by one of my favorite 80’s actors Tom Atkins of Escape from New York, The Fog (1979) and Night of the Creeps. A patient dies in his hospital and as he investigates he uncovers a horrific plot by the owner of Silver Shamrock Novelties – Conal Cochran, played most excellently by Dan O’Hearly. This guy is CREEPY! Easily the best 80’s horror old bad guy since the Tall Man of Phantasm fame. It’s a race against time to stop the madness before it’s too late! Great music score (done by John Carpenter), excellent story, above average acting and decent special effects. Even if I wasn’t a huge fan of John Carpenter and Halloween (both the movies and holiday) I would say this is a great movie, DEFINATLEY WORTH CHECKING OUT. As far as why the movie is so different from all the others, most die hard Halloween or John Carpenter fans will know, but in case you don’t, here’s the (somewhat) short version. John Carpenter and Debra Hill created Halloween and made it using money invested from a man named Moustapha Akkad. With the success of the first movie Carpenter was approached to make a sequel. Since his vision of the first movies ending was Myers being shot of the balcony then disappearing into the night, he was reluctant to agree. He finally gave in, agreeing to write and score the music for the second. The second was directed by Rick Rosenthal who I believe was an assistant director for the first maybe? Since Carpenter wrote this one, he killed Myers in the end in the hospital explosion. Myers fans wanted more and when Carpenter was approached to make a third he agreed but only if it had nothing to do with Myers, after all Myers was dead. And thus the third and for most people utterly confusing third movie Season of the Witch. Most fans had no idea about the production side of this and so number three got horrible reviews. Fans wanted Michael back, Carpenter wanted out, so the rights to the movies were sold to Moustapha Akkad and he took over since! That’s also why 4 through 8 are so different than the first three. I love all of them; overall Halloween is one of the best long time running Horror movie series. The original is my favorite movie of all time, hands down. Whew! Thanks for taking the time to read this if you have, I hope it is helpful and maybe clears up some confusion! This is my first review, if you liked it please keep an eye out for more I am a huge movie fan (Horror, Sci-Fi, Action, Anime and some comedy) and will be writing some more reviews soon, I promise every one won’t be as long. :0

Re-Animator - Fantastic 80's Horror
What can I say, I’ve been a total horror buff since I was a kid growing up in the 80’s (perfect time to be a horror movie loving child), but somehow I missed this one. A friend showed it to me a few years ago and it just stuck in my head (get it!, get it!!). During my last round of ebaying I got the Millennium edition (VERY cool, tons of extra features) for a very modest price, that was like two weeks ago and I’ve watched the movie at least once a night since. If you like H.P. Lovecraft’s work, the movie of course differs a bit from the original book Herbert West: Re-Animator published in 1922, but mostly it was just updating things to more modern times and the specifications of how West looks. Overall I thought it still stayed very true to the whole feel of ‘Lovecraftian Horror’. Jeffrey Coombs is quite outstanding as Herbert West, an overly self confident, smug little scientist who manages to creep me out in scene after scene either by the way he delivers his dialogue or little movements of his face or body language. I’m absolutely in love with this movie. West is driven to make his ‘Re-Agent’ work at all costs, even that of his schooling and later on in the series even his freedom. Employing the work of fellow med student Dan Cain (awesome supporting role by Bruce Abbott), West steals, blackmails and kills his way to what he wants. Only one thing, he can’t seem to make the Re-Animated come back without being homicidally violent. Hmmm…. Those pesky details. :) Also starring Barbara Crampton as Megan Halsey, David Gale as Dr. Carl Hill and Robert Sampson as Dean Halsey. All do a very good job in their roles; I particularly liked David Gale’s acting. Directed by Stuart Gordan, produced by Brian Yuzna, this movie is a classic 80’s horror with tons of blood, nudity and general mayhem. Differs from other 80’s horrors in that it’s doesn’t have that hokey comedy that’s in so many old horrors of the time, it’s still there, but most humor is quite sardonic and delivered very dry (loved it). Bonuses are a well written script, far above average acting and above average directing combined for an outstanding movie. One of my favorites now, if you consider yourself a horror fan, this is a must see for sure. No questions about it now! Go! You’ll be glad you did. Side note about the different editions The Millennium Edition by Elite Entertainment is the best set in the price vs. features column; I got mine for eight dollars which I found quite reasonable. Director commentary, commentary by all major cast, tons of interviews, 16 extended scenes, one deleted scene and quite a bit more, it’s a good one. True fans (which in these two short weeks I have undeniably become) will most likely want to shoot for the Anchor Bay Collection with the limited edition Re-Agent syringe highlighter. If you can get one of these babies brand new go for it, to give you an idea of good prices, I got mine at a local Hastings (movie/book/music store) for 17 dollars. It comes with everything the Millennium Edition has plus the LE highlighter and an exclusive 70 minute featurette called RE-ANIMATOR RESURRECTUS. Happy watching!!!
