Great book...for the East Coast only.
1 of 1 found this helpful When I bought this book I saw no indication it was solely focused on the East Coast. Since I live on the West coast the book has only limited interest for me. Still glad I have it for the price.

Ties together human learning and spirituality
I found "Why God Won't Go Away" while browsing in a bookstore. As I perused it I discovered some very sensitive writing giving a clear and simple understanding of human brain learning functions and some ideas about how that seems to relate to human existance and intrinsic spirituality. So I bought the book, read it thoroughly, and find I am re-stimulated in my search for truth. This book has dislodged me from strictly traditional relegious thinking and has given me ideas about how to better understand the value of religion. Most importantly, although the book doesn't address it directly, it has given me insights to understand both cannonical and gnostic scriptures and how they may actually work together hand in hand rather than apart as some christian churches would have us believe. If there is a fault with this book, it may be that the major points could be made with fewer words. But, since the material is logically written and constructed, a reader can easily speed read any sections that seem over-described.
