a640 vs nikon d3000?

i recently came into a nikon D3000 that belonged to my now deceased brother in law. i did a comparison shot of a piece of artwork and the a640 won out. i used the nikon 18-55 zoom for the copy photo. i have been using my A640 for many years and never had an issue with it (it has taken a beating and is still fine). i even bought a second one on ebay in mint condition several years ago because it has all the features i want (aa batts, video, compact, great macro, articulating screen, etc.). anyhow, i love the a640, but will keep the D3000 as a tribute to my brother in law and a reliable "plan B".

mounting issues with m&p

i put this on my pellet gun using a barrel adapter from ebay for picatinny mounts. i had to use my bench grinder to grind down the barrel adapter grooves on the mount in order for this to mount to it. it is a good little laser so far, but seems like it is more for a shallow dovetail mount than a picatinny.
