Rigid round body and motor head of the classic are less likely to leak.
Tried the other brand made in Italy and it leaked between the motor head and body. The body and motor head on the Eheim classic are made from hard plastic and are less likely to leak at the main gasket. Though it will leak at the outlet double tap valve if u close it trying to control the outflow. No problem with leaving it wide open. Yeah it’s uglier than other brand but it functions without leaking and that’s all that matter. The Eheim classic 600 is perfect if you’re running it with a true 25 watt sterilizer. Again if you’re hunting for a canister filter with a square or rectangular body with flexible plastic body, stop and consider this old school Eheim.

Good buy save money and easily install it yourself!
Very easy to install. The instruction that came with the kit was pretty clear but to be in the safe side just google search for the video. It goes into detail. Altogether it took me roughly 15-20 minutes to complete. One thing I did notice is the battery is rated at 2200 mah but I think it’s either exaggerated or the newer iOS firmware on older iPhones like mine sucks up more juice. Either way it’s a good buy and saved me money and time bringing it out to local store that installs for upward of $60. I definitely recommend.

Strong material crystal clear.
Was looking for material to diy a co2 reactor and stumbled upon this. Just perfect precut and seems very strong. The 2” tube fits pvc fitting just as described. Very happy with this.
