Proceed with extreem caution on older cars.
Destroyed the passenger electric window mechanism which required a complete rebuild. If your windows are only slightly out of line, or leaning out by only a couple of millimeters, you may create more trouble than it's worth. We have dogs and do long drives through France hence wanting deflectors to prevent buffeting wind on the motorway which the dogs dislike. Both the drivers and passenger side deflectors cracked upon careful installation at the rear lip leaving plastic stuck in the groove. Drivers side window could only just close but would rub against the deflector making uncomfortable closure. Passenger side window wouldn't close at all even after adjustment and finally destroyed the internal blue clips that hold the system in place.
