Overrated, but must see 3d pioneer
Personally, I felt that the hype surrounding this film was a little uncalled for, BUT the fact that it was number one at the box office for quite so long speaks volumes - it is a must see. Whether or not you manage to see this film in all it's 3d glory it is definitely worth seeing purely to understand where films of this genre are heading. It's clear that in the next few years nearly all sci fi epics will house some of the features of this film, and that isn't entirely a bad thing. It's refreshing to see a relatively young unknown in a lead role, and Zoe Saldana's finger has been in so many pies movie wise since this film, it's unbelievable to think only a year ago she'd only really been in the Britney Spears movie Crossroads. Since Avatar and Star Trek, she's managed to appear in a handful of blockbusters and the future continues to look brighter with sequels afoot. Susan Sarandon and Michelle Rodruigez give good turns in the supporting cast and overall the graphics are just as impressive in 2d - though I can imagine a big tv would be an advantage!

Best album of the 90s
This cd knocked Oasis off number one once upon a time. And so it should. This is a fine, fine, fine album - let alone for a debut, and features some of the Bluetones best ever songs. It's hard not to love every little detail of every song. Highlights would most certainly be the infections Slight Return [you'd know it] and the genius Talking to Clarry, Time and Again, Fountainhead and Bluetonic. Anyone can enjoy this album. It's easy going and meaningful. And not in a James Blunt way...

What's not to love!
So you not only get all the hits, which barely have a skipable song between them - but you get a bonus disc of rareities and the odd b-side to make the fact that it's a greatest hits seem less of a copout! Xenomanias production on singles such as The Show, Something Kinda Ooh and Wake Me Up is astounding, and I think the best way to showcase their talent as producers is by looking at such an impressive back catalouge with Girls Aloud. There aren't too many ballads, and there's the fantastic 'Money' which arguabley should've been a single instead of I think We're Alone Now, in the first place. In itself, Money is worth buying the album for. It's got Girls Aloud written all over it, from what i can decipher a year on it's just about sex and money and blokes. Like most of their best songs really! On the bonus disc you get a live cover of I predict a riot, which isn't for me, but I don't know anyone else who doesn't find it revolutionary. It's just their sort of song, and for indie fans who think pop's below them - this album proves why while Xenomania are around, pop's always going to be on top. The alternative versions of Wake me Up and the parental advisory 'No Good Advice' [basically just including the s-word] aren't necessarily amazing contributions, but they beat the elongated version of Sound of the Underground which isn't really that different at all. But nevertheless, they're great songs so having them on this thing twice isn't to its detriment. There's a fittingly fantastic cover of Blondie's Hanging on the telephone, and Scared Trust [one true voice's original rival song back in 02] which sticks a cheeky two fingers back up at their rivals of old. Wake me up bside Loving is easy, previously oly available in vinyl so never available anywhere in perfect quality, is a fantastic showcase of the girls ability to write and sing slightly darker ballads. The bestn part if you get a brand new song on this disc, never featured on Chemistry, Singapore is catchy and everything Xenomania stand for, and definitely tops the list of why this bonus disc version is worth paying the extra for. If you are a Girls Aloud fan, you need this album as it has new material. If you aren't a Girls Aloud fan, you need this album because it will possibly change your life.
