Wonderful insight into the father /son relationship
And it will make men who still have their fathers appreciate them so much more. Women will gain a deeper understanding with the male relationships of their men folk

OK as a seat
very useful for someone who cannot stand for long periods. Excellent example as the legs are adjustable. However not good as a walking stick as may be too high, and handle not really comfortable as a support. Really useful for someone with arthritic knees as pressure is right off. We took it on a city visit with our family of ten aged 8-81 (yes really!) and everyone was pleased to use it at some point whether wating for a tram, a seat on the fully occupied metro or going round a museum.

Superb and as it was
Here is the real story with no frills or viewed through rose tinted glasses.
In those days no one went to the East End unless they had business to be there so no one outside understood the terrible privations of lives lived in bombed out and condemned houses with few or no amenities others have taken for granted for over a hundred years.
Everyone should read this book and thank God that they live in this largess of Social Security
