Make sure to update BIOS and select "Fail Safe" default setting

The CPU works great! But you have to update BIOS to the latest revision, and select "Fail Safe" setting. I have a motherboard from MSI, K9N6PGM2V2. I did the first and did not do the second. The motherboard used the previous setting which caused the system to crash and corrupt my hard drive. It took long time to rebuild hard drive twice. I believe the critical parameter in BIOS is hyperlink speed. The CPU works at 400 MHz. I don't know how high it can go. But 1000 MHz will crash!!!

A real good value to revive your old laptop.

The boot up time on my Window 7 laptop improved from 50 seconds to 28 seconds. I should have bought the 500 GB version. On other thing I will do to this ASUS X81 laptop is to replace the WiFi module to the AC standard. It is currently on 2.5 GHz WiFi.

Works but not sturdy

It works, but the three legs are made of plastic. It is very flimsy and does not hold my cell phone very steadily.
