For the money, you can't buy a better lens.

I like this lens better than an f/4 400mm sold by Nikon. Clarity surprised me as it's nearly flawless.I have a Nikon Reflex 500mm f/8 that I used to swear by even though it was a mirror lens but this Tamron surpasses it. I now use the 400mm instead of the more powerful 500mm (8X vs 10X). It's worth giving up the extra power.
