Stunning but flawed.
2 of 2 found this helpful Got the guitar this morning-48 hour delivery NO problems-and I am STUNNED at the overall quality of the instrument:nice wood grain, beautifully finished.
Obviously not a solid piece body but looks fantastic & is light to handle(not sure what size a Telecaster body is but this may be a tad smaller & thinner for cost reasons)& comfortable.
I was drawn in by the thru stringing on the body for the guitar strings-their 6 string version doesn't have this-so it has decent sustain.
The Octave strings go thru the top of the bridge but the hardware is solid looking & robust-solid looking chromed steel.
(I'd be tempted 😉to buy another one & put a 6 string neck on it!)
The set up is good-I've never owned a 12 string-but it frets really well & so far isn't tiring to play!
The scratch plate is rough around the edges-no big deal as I can get another one-& the pick ups sound nice(but never having owned a tell type guitar,I don't know what to expect but it is trebly & has a nice jangle to it)through my amp.
The fretting looks well done-crowned & profiled properly-and it has been done with care.
The neck has a nice camber & is not to thick & tiring when playing-your fingers are doing the work, not your whole hand.
Tuners seem good-again replaceable.
The ONLY niggle I have is that the heel of the neck is a little bit too wide for the neck cavity(3-5 mm approximately)the body seeming cut too slim at this point & is glaring when you know it is there!
The cavity could be widened to make it snug but still a hassle.
I DON'T KNOW HOW a guitar like this is possible at this price but I am happy to have one but HOPE that quality control at Gear4Music check this minor flaw in an otherwise amazing guitar....!
I have inherited a couple of G4M guitars & this purchase has confirmed my suspicions that this company is a sleeper, offering guitars at the most incredible cost & quality.
The only other things are the heel of the neck is slightly proud of the heel cavity in the body:also, the bridge plate seems to be ever so slightly at an angle-the bottom strings(E,A) seem to taper close to each other as you go higher up the strings toward the bridge.
One last thing:The point that sold the guitar to me-thru the body stringing-the holes look slightly misaligned & askew;whether this is for intonation I doubt as these guitars seem to be rushed in assembly which is a shame given the overall quality of the guitar!
Sorting these last two problems is probably doable but COME ON YOU GUYS AT GEAR4MUSIC-SAVE US THE HASSLE!

This should be a series!
1 of 1 found this helpful I got more than I bargained for when I got this disc partially one a whim:I have other tuition DVD's and indeed I have other Arlen Roth tuition materials but it is how he explains the theory & the logic behind the material that he plays through on the disc that, for me,makes it an EXCELLENT first DVD of this kind for a beginner OR someone more experienced.
I would suggest that Mr Roth SHOULD consider a more in depth DVD series because of his refreshing & simple way of giving the theory and the logic behind the music rather than the disc just showing you where and what to play.
A 10/10 thumbs up here!

Interesting device when you understand it but confusing manual.
The Manual wasn’t clear & is confusingly illustrated-why not have CLEAR GRAPHICS in order to programme the scales
The thing I don’t like about these scales it is re-editing the individual settings-12 programmable slots for various individuals of all ages that are Straight forward when you input your height & weight and age but not clearly explained in the booklet.
