hidden gem for the price

i bought these at peter tyson, and for ~120 british pounds, these are absolutely recommended. class a, low-distortion, fun, spacious, dynamic little amp with absolutely perfect build despite being made in china. two-stage gain setting comes handy, so the z40 works with sensitive iems, and with the gain set to high, it can drive full-size cans with ease. also, as a nice touch, the amp might be controlled via remote control, which is a rare feature for headphone amps. four inputs are practical, and z40 works as a preamp, too. i could use a balanced output, but for the money, i really can't complain.

only silicone tips that fit my ears

earphone tips' comfort is always a subjective matter: we all have different ear canals. i've already tried tons of aftermarket silicone tips and i always went back to foam tips as this proved to be the only way to achieve proper seal, comfortable and long lasting fit. but foam tips might compromise sound quality. now, the best solution for me is using these spiral dot tips: comfort is perfect, seal is almost as good as with some foams, and sound is tighter, brighter without losing on bass quantity. these are the best tips for me. as always with audio product, ymmv.
