Compelling introduction to L Alma Tadema's paintings
Gorgeous book, with great pictures looking at the more famous of Tadema's work. Coupled with informative narrative on the background and story telling of the paintings. this is a lovely book to display on your coffee table.

An easy read, whilst being civilised and very intelligent,
I’m an busy ‘oldish’ mum at home, with an iPad. Why do I start this review with those two facts. Well, this book deals with serious life issues; divorce, separation, loss, aging, longing and loneliness. But Brookner, is also like Orwell a master at keeping your interest through clear and deceptively simple language. I find it gets harder and harder to read books without being distracted, which is I think related, certainly in my case, due to the way I use my tablet. The book feels like you’re on a journey with a good long time friend. You understand everything the protagonist is going through but also admire her for not making a ‘ fuss’. Brookner leaves you with some pithy life questions. I’m a new fan.

Lovely and prompt service. Highly recommended
Brilliant animation for young children. Learn about recyling, improvising, and the lovely Clangers. Reassuring voice of the late author and producer. You just can't go wrong. Better than any CBBC rubbish these days!
