When only the best will do! Go ORIGINAL GM!
When it comes to restoration, you can't do any better than OEM parts.

Cordless Impact
I own 5 of these. They are the best impact tool you can purchase for the price. It's a shame they stopped making this model and tried to 'improve it'. Newer versions are bigger, heavier and clunky. I'll buy another one of these before I buy a new , improved one. These batteries will be available for a long time to come.

None Better
I have 6 of these! It's a shame they stopped making this model. 12 volts is quite sufficient. The larger tools are bulky, unbalanced and provide little if any benefit over this model. I'm in the construction business and work with these cordless impacts on a daily basis. The ONLY tool that can best the Hitachi is one of the Makita models made in and for the Japanese market. NOT the ones they provide to the American market. I'd buy a used Hitachi 12v before I ever bought a new Dewalt, Milwaukee, Rigid or any other manufacturer. That's how strongly I feel about these units. The oldest one I have is nearly 14 years old.
