Second book in an excellent self-study Latin course suitable for adults or children
This is the second book in the Cambridge Schools Latin Project series. It continues the format of the first book, introducing successive steps in learning Latin through stories about a family. This book is set in Roman Britain and each chapter is richly illustrated to bring the background story and historical context to life. In this book, there is a more extended Language Information section for reference at the back with a list of vocabulary and several tables of grammar. It is definitely possible to learn Latin as an independent learner using these books - the CSLP website also sells interactive CDs to accompany Books I & II, which my 12-year-old greatly appreciated.
