either bad phone design or bought defective phone
Never got this Doro phone to work acceptably.
Suspect that is has a really weak antenna (poor design) &/or that there was a defect in the phone unit we purchased (suspect seller).
Problems: Terrible signal/reception and also power/screen/shutdown problems.
More details:
Bought it for elderly person, set it up on their existing 3rd-party phone service in the US.
(The fact that is "unlocked" & thus can be used with existing service was the main reason for buying it overseas through eBay.)
The phone could not get a reliable connection in the user's house (whereas another-model phone on same service had no problem in the house, and the Doro phone worked OK in other locations nearby). Tried having the SIM card replaced and also putting a signal-booster in the home; that resulted in minor improvement, but still mostly unusable.
Also the phone started shutting down (or else will not awaken screen) after closing the "clamshell," despite full battery charge.
Giving up, not trying to get money back because it's not worth shipping charges, plus it's been more than 30 days since purchase (which we spent trying various things, hoping to get it to work).
