Its a dongle
This does the job for the price, but stutters a bit as my internet hub is in a different room. The thing needs to be carefully placed so that your tv isn't between your dongle and your phone, as it acts as a faraday cage and blocks the signal. Way too much delay for live gaming, but to watch YouTube or look at your pictures from the phone on a big tv screen for the price it's a giveaway. I suspect that a hardware hdmi to use cable would be better, but for occasional use and less wiring it's easy. My tv doesn't have a usb to power it. Fortunately I had a connector and 5v power supply that fits. Beware it doesn't like 1080 video either.
