86cm is normal for a 90cm hob?
I bought this hob as a 90cm unit? When it came it's only 86cm.
I bought a matching hud and splashback at 90cm.

Even my small koi witch my wife bought in the October, (I wasn't happy) managed to get through the winter!
Medikoi is the way to go.
Ps I did have to crush it up for the small koi, but I only had 6mm !
